How to find a repair manual for almost anything (legally, free)
Appliances: the manufacturer's own parts site usually has the service manual under the model number, or the tech sheet is taped inside the machine (behind the kick plate on dishwashers, inside the control console on washers). Cars: your library almost certainly has a subscription to a professional service database (Chilton or ALLDATA) free with your card; ask at the desk. Electronics: iFixit, the manufacturer's repair program pages (Apple and Samsung both publish now, thanks to the laws), and the Internet Archive's manuals collection. Small engines: Briggs and Honda publish service manuals as PDFs. Right-to-repair laws in a growing number of states require manufacturers to make manuals available; if a company refuses, your state AG's consumer office wants to hear about it.

I did the same repair last month and your step 3 is where I got stuck. Wish I had this then.
