Getting the car back in the garage: the one-weekend method
Difficultyeasy
Timea weekend
Saturday morning: everything out onto the driveway. Everything. Three zones on a tarp: keep, sell/give, trash.
Saturday afternoon: sweep, patch holes, mount the big storage before anything comes back: a 4x8 overhead rack over the hood zone for seasonal bins, a French cleat or slatwall run along one wall, wire shelving on the back wall.
Sunday: bring back only the keep pile, by category, into labelled clear bins. Bikes on wall hooks, ladders on hooks, yard tools on a rail. Park the car and tape its footprint on the floor so nothing creeps into it.
The trick that makes it stick: a "landing shelf" by the door for things in transit, emptied every Sunday.

Bookmarking. I have exactly this problem and was about to pay someone.
Right around what the post says, give or take shipping.
Upvoted for the safety notes alone.
Small addition: wear eye protection for the part where you pry it. Learned that one the hard way.
Would this work on the older model? Mine is about ten years older than the one shown.
Nice. What did the whole thing end up costing you?
Unplug it. Always. Takes two seconds and the worst case otherwise is a trip to the ER.
Solid. Sending this to my brother who keeps asking me to fix his.
The "what went wrong" section is the most useful part of this. More people should do that.
Yep, same here. The second time is always faster.
