Sharpening a chisel freehand in five minutes: the only skill that makes hand tools fun
Difficultyeasy
Time5 minutes
Flatten the back once, ever: 30 seconds on a coarse stone until the last 1/2" near the edge is a uniform scratch pattern. Bevel: 25° primary (a honing guide for the first few until your hands learn it), 30° micro-bevel with ten strokes on a fine stone. Raise a burr you can feel with your thumbnail along the whole edge, flip, two strokes flat on the back to remove it, strop on leather with green compound. Test on end grain of pine: it should slice, not crush. If you have to push hard, go back to the fine stone.

The embedded video is clearer than the official service manual, which is a little embarrassing for the manufacturer.
Right around what the post says, give or take shipping.
