Snowblower prep in October so it starts in the first storm
Difficultyeasy
Time1 hour
Fresh gas with stabilizer, new plug, check the auger shear pins and keep spares in the toolbox on the machine, grease the auger shafts (pull the pins, slide the augers, grease, reinstall), check the friction disc for cracks, adjust the cables so the auger stops within 5 seconds of releasing, replace the scraper bar and skid shoes if worn. Then start it and run it for 10 minutes. Do this in October, not December in the dark.

Question: do you need to disconnect power for this or is it safe to leave it plugged in?
Right around what the post says, give or take shipping.
Can confirm, the cheap part is the one that fails. Replaced mine twice before reading this.
Nice. What did the whole thing end up costing you?
Should be the same procedure, the part moved slightly but the steps match.
Followed along, got it done in about twice the time quoted, but it is done and it works.

Tried this over the weekend and it worked first time. Thanks for writing it up properly.
