✅ Hub motor kit on an aluminum fork: everyone says no. How bad is it really?

Have a 350W front hub kit and an old aluminum hybrid. Would rather not buy a new fork. Torque arm enough?

With a quality torque arm (or two) and 350W you will probably be fine, and plenty of people run it. But "probably" is doing work in that sentence: aluminum dropouts fail by cracking, not by gradually rounding, and when a front wheel locks or spins out you go over the bars. A steel fork from a bike co-op is $20. For a front motor I would spend the $20.

Or put the motor in the back where the frame is triangulated. Most kits work either end.
